MOSAIC
by: Tyna Braxton.
walking along the path
petals of pink and yellow
brown and tan cover the cold
cement walkway
a mosaic of color to lead
me into the old buildings
in the country
i love to come here
it is so peaceful
at least it was until
he soiled it
even that small space of peace
is now gone
the anger upset insults
that have placed themselves along this
beautiful have been soiled
it is going to be a long winter
but in the spring
all things will be new again
and so will my beautiful walkway
of peace
the winds will pick up and carry away
these scared fragments
making way for a wondrous new beginning
the sun will shine and renew my flesh
and the warn breeze will fill my nostrils
and all will be as it was
before
petals of pink and yellow
brown and tan
a mosaic of color
