A poem about the trailblazers of our country.
We know their names,
We know their exploits,
But many do not know their story.
The men who blazed the trails into the wild west,
And the people who settled the wild to make it their home.
They were a rough and unruly lot,
And they were prone to violence.
They fought grizzlies with only a knife,
and persevered over each and overy crisis thast arose.
They were a quiet lot,
People who preferred their solitude over company of others.
They were called mountain men,
And they were the pathfinders and trailblazers of our growing union.
