Poem/story about forbidden love, and family concerns…

Maria’s son’s name was Duphur,

all he wanted was her happiness,

knew she suffered when their Dad left her,

felt she’d been through enough sadness…..

Said it was his mother’s affair,

would always support her in anyway,

told how much he loved her and cared,

then he kissed her and went his way…..

The time just ticked away,

Maria related all to her daughter,

her little granchild wanted to play,

she brought them both to laughter…..

She acknowledged Michal was a fine man,

she’d be happy to wear his ring,

would strengthen the family and their land,

though he could never give what Kong brings…..

Kong has a mountain and empty shelves,

has a heart that’s pure and clean,

everything he gives is of himself,

he lives in a world that is not mean…..

It’s a world I cannot have,

its only a place for my eyes to see,

for I know deep in my heart,

our love is not meant to be…..

Maria’s eyes were moist,

as she put her arms around her mother,

kissing and hugging her like a grateful host,

sealing a bond between one another…..

This taking one another into their confidence,

opened the door between them both,

was not a confession of sin or decadence,

it led the way to love trust and hope……

This conversation helped Marie realise,

the deep love her mother has,

both in her heart and eyes,

and on that wet day she saw paradise…..

She stepped back from her mom,

by now they were both in tears,

both for reasons of their own,

and both freed of doubts and fears…..

The little grand daughter tugged at Maria,

Maria laughed you little cutie,

your our princess to this family and land,

and you’ll win many prizes with your beauty,

Little did Maria know,

those very words would prove true,

and something else she couldn’t know,

she would bring her grand daughter down……….to be continued………….

The sadness of reality and paradise is a fine line that only the few lucky get to experience in life. I know that is why I relate to your works so much because I have been in the dreams of a lady who chooses reality over what seemed as a romantic dream. Great job once again, my friend.
