Poem/story of forbidden love..the next generation..

Mariaan related to her mother,

what they saw from the mountain,

it was a sight like no other,

a beautiful valley in the surrounding terrain…..

They drove down into the valley,

and went to an old cabin,

it was run down and shabby,

but had a feeling grandma had been……

Showed her an old photo,

there were three names written on the back,

Maria Kong and a dog named Pluto,

found the photo in the old shack……

The place was old and needed repair,

and wondered about ownership,

if it was left in Kongs care,

then surely were entitled to a share……

Marie knew Kong was given some land,

When him and Maria made their committment,

maybe the old hut and where it stands,

was given as his allotment……

Mariaan would look into the matter,

knowing her grandmothers marriage to Kong,

had brought some land issues with the latter,

she would sort out what was right and wrong……

But right now something else was of concern.

the handsome stranger was on her mind,

there are some things you don’t want to learn,

as Mariaan would come to know in time……

Her mother laughed when told of the pool,

when Mariaan and her cousin were caught swimming,

once again in the nude,

by the same handsome dude…….

But this time he got double reward,

then in a more serious note,

Marie turned to the girls and warned,

I have a funny feeling about this bloke……

I don’t know what it is,

but the thought of him makes me cringe,

and I don’t feel at ease,

I even feel afraid to meet him……

Mariaan tried to comfort her mother,

saying she has nothing to being afraid of,

I just know he is like no other,

that whats scares me my daughter……

There were too many similarities,

that happen to her dear mother,

and green eyes is unusual among Maori’s,

she was really concerned for her daughter……

The holidays would soon come to an end,

the two cousins would go their separate ways,

they would part as very close friends,

but these were early days……

For now they both had seen the handsome stranger,

though Marietta didn’t say much,

his brief appearance did affect her,

seems to be an attraction between Maori’s and Dutch………..to be continued…….

beautiful story. A mix between a poem and a novel is an unusual concept.
