Poem/story of forbidden love between different cultures, and within unknown bonds….

She called again to thank him,

said she’s not skinny just slim,

and I have just as much right to be here,

and calling me white is not fair…….

Raising her voice she asked for his address,

so that she could send his jacket back,

and I’m not dumb and clueless,

he just kept riding down the track……

She yelled thanks for your help,

he waved and kicked his horse into a gallop,

then slowly disappeared behind some trees,

what you’ve done today means a lot……

Her words went unheard by the man,

slowly got into her car,

looked at the old hut and called out grandma,

please help me if you can……

Once again related everything to her mother,

Marie wanted to call the police,

to lodge a compliant or give notice,

but Mariaan said not to bother,

Besides be their word against hers,

and they all seemed to know each other,

But now Mariaan was more aware,

and would listen more to her mother……

The next morning they got a surprise visitor,

it was the gang leader and a Maori elder,

after brief introductions,

the gang leader apologized for their actions……

Were very sorry for their bad behavior,

and promised it will never happen again,

for causing any damages and pain,

they were willing to pay or grant any favor…….

Then the Maori elder spoke directly to Marie,

your Dutch family were always very respectful to us,

and in each other we had trust,

and we never forget what your mother gave us……

So in view of what has happen,

please is there something we can do for you,

or for your daughter,

if its within our power we will do……

Marie and Mariaan smiled at each other,

then turning to the Maori elder Marie said,

I think the mountain and my mother,

are watching over my daughter…….

There is but one favor we ask,

can we have free access to the little old cabin,

and to the flowing stream may we bask,

we would be happy if that is given…….

The maori elder nodded and shook their hands,

all authority has been given to grant you freedom,

to the little old cabin and surrounding lands,

your family will always be welcome…..

Then turning to Mariaan he said,

please forgive my young nephew,

he is very strong willed and swell headed,

he has that mountain flowing in his sinews…..

But he will not be bothering you again,

he’s heading back to Australia on a  plane,

ohhh and he says you can have the jacket,

something about looks better on you then him………………….to be continued…………….

I am so glad that incident was sorted out to everyone’s satisfaction. It could have been so much worse. Good work, Stan.

Would that there could be a knight in shining armour appearing more often in ordinary lives…sometimes they do show up in the most unexpected ways and times, saving us from heartache, or loneliness!!!
    A great write, Stan!!

Ok, so this comment above might have been better with the previous chapter, but since it is part of the story…..
