Inspired by all those critters that keep me awake at night!

In the darkest hour of the night,

I hear the crickets chirp.

Chirping and chirping,

They sing their song,

harmonizing with the fireflies,

Creating a Symphony of the Night.

Intently, I listen,

Finding their rhythm.

Softly, I hum along,

And wave my hands, imagining i am conductor.

A dog ads her piercing howls to the quartet,

As if she is a trumpet solo.

Carelessly, she breaks all rhythm,

Sending the orchastra into a cacophonous buzz.

Thus ending the peaceful symphony.

I shut my window,

Close my eyes,

And sleep kidnaps my thoughts.
