Here’s a poem I just wrote while online about my baby niece, Aisha who I saw for the first time just the mid of last month but she already has my heart inside her…
My baby, my little princess,
I think of you as an angel in disguise,
Sweetheart, whether you believe it or not,
In yourself you carry my life.
Every time, after you yawn,
The “ack-hmmm” noise that you make,
Touches me so wildly,
Gives my heart a vigorous shake.
You don’t know how it troubles me,
Every time that you cry out loud,
The sorrow, the pain,
It makes me wish I was already in my shroud.
Whenever I carry you,
And look into your angelic eyes,
There’s just one thing I can think of,
Could anyone be so nice??
Your little feet, your little hands,
Everything about you I love.
I have to be so careful when touching you,
You are my little, delicate dove.
Seeing you in your little pool,
When you are getting your daily bath,
Takes me to anohter dimension,
Away from all the worldly wrath.
How you suck my clothes when you are in my arms,
And the way you catch hold of my hair,
Are just gifts from God,
Babies like you are very rare.
I keep you from others’ evil eyes,
Though, you, I want all the world to see.
But baby, you were born fourteen years ago,
Because, you actually live within me…
