I wrote this poem for my father because thanks to him I am excelling in basketball: Without him I wouldn’t be the same.
My dad told me I’d be great
That I would have a great basketball fate
He told me to be the best i could be
To play like the original me
When I usually fall
But I get up and run to the ball
Sometimes I fall on my face
But I get up and down the court I race
I am really obsessed with basketball
It’s my greatest love of all
I am so good there is no cure
Thanks to my dad my game is pure
When my dad was younger his game was grand
He wasn’t just another grain of sand
He wasn’t just another fish in the sea
He was a natural protegy
If you have paid attention you will see
That his skills are coming from him to me
I’m not going to let his dream of me fall
I’m gonna play some true basketball
