Writer’s Block again. Some days the words just come. Some days I sit before a blank computer screen and wonder where my talent went. Then I have to write a poem.

Some days my brain amazes me
with thoughts profound and wise;
They come to me,
So easily,
From where I can’t surmise.

Some days the words just write themselves,
With witty repartee;
My fingers race
At lightning pace,
But how? I cannot say.

Is there some switch inside my mind
A tap that I could turn?
So laughs would flow,
My fame would grow;
And Triond income earn!

    I have empathy for you, I found myself in this situation often. I am sure it will soon pass.

    I wish I could find that switch. I am running out of ideas.
    Nice work.

    You have a knack of turning even the blocked head days into potential pays with your spontaneous ways.

    Pretty good flow of words, if you ask me.

  • goodselfme on Jun 17, 2009

    Seems as though you know where the switch is, my friend. Well done with a zing.

    Sigh. Yeah…you find that switch let me know. Sometimes my fingers on fire; some days I pull the words out a letter at a time. Hang in there…it does go away.

    Great reflection. That is where I am now. It is not a block but I am just letting my feelings hold me captive.

  • Sheila M on Dec 16, 2009

    We\’ve all been through it but within that block sometimes come some great words

    The door may be closed but there is light peeking through and making it ways to the page.

  • maranatha on Dec 17, 2009

    Boy, have I had those days, Karen! Perfect parody of the nonsensical stuff that sometimes flows from nothing at all! Well done!

  • Nicholas Peterson on Dec 18, 2009

    ha. i publish for triond like…once every 2 months…so i think you might be a little more productive than i.

    Sometimes I wish the same thing and then realize that writer’s block does not exist. It is just procrastination that sneaks in , tells its lies and leaves us pondering on what just occured instead of putting our pen to paper.

    loved this. Short and simple.

    I’m caught in one!
    and it dosnt seem to be leaving me any soon!
    sob!
    oh, i wish it would clear,
    so that i can write to my dear!

    Lol
    nice work!
