Two people getting to know one another and becoming the best of friends.

My Buddy Chuck

In the beginning, we were strangers,

Didn’t really know each other,

Until Clint mixed our lives together,

Now I love you like a brother.

We honestly are all family,

You, Little Dirt, Fletcher, and me.

I hope you value our friendship

As much as I do,

I often don’t know what I’d do

Without you.

You’re always there when I need an ear,

If I’m happy, mad,

Or on the other hand,

Need to shed a few tears.

I don’t actually have many friends around here,

I suppose I lost them all in the divorce.

Peculiar thing is, I feel no remorse,

Seeing as they weren’t sincere allies.

If any of them truthfully cared,

They wouldn’t have abandoned me

When I needed them the most.

I consider myself fortunate,

To realize that

You’ve always got my back,

Whether I’m right or wrong,

Typically, no questions asked.

I hope that you understand

That I’d give you the same,

Any circumstance,

Even if you think it’s lame.

I recognize the reason

We became components

In each others lives

Was our mutual bond with Clint,

However, I believe we’ve matured

Into something more evolved than that.

I’m hopeful that in the future,

When push comes to shove,

Your comradeship truly is pure.

Not comparable to the others,

Only hanging out with me

Because they felt they had to,

But because I’m the Big Sister,

And we depend on each other.

I’m generally somewhat emotional,

Always attempting to cope

With some type of issue.

It’s quite the responsibility,

To count on you to be there,

To catch me when I fall.

It’s relieving to know

All I have to do is call.

What I want you to know,

The one thing I hope sinks in,

Is that no matter what happens,

In either one of our lives,

That always and forever,

Until the very end,

I am absolutely grateful

To have you as a friend!

Thank you for everything,

Through good times and bad,

What can I say chuck?

You’re the best amigo

I’ve ever had!
