With a feeling of disatisfaction while working for a previous employer, I put into words my feelings and thoughts of the changes to come.
MY CORNER OF THE WORLD – BY SUSAN VARO – 10/18/00
On day as I satIn my corner of the world
High above the everyday
Where the chimney smoke gets hurled
Looking out through my corner window
From my desk into the sky
The clouds are dark and telling me
They are about to cry
Though I can only see parts of the sky
I’ve never seen a sky as such
Sometimes I see what other won’t
Sometimes I see too much
The falling rain is tapping
A tune I’ve heard before
But this time the tap is different
Like it will soon tap no more.
Changing times are approaching
As I wait in this office space
Many do as others do
They remain in the same place
This workplace of no morale
Like whispers in the dark
No one sees the silent one
Whose targeted and marked
Three sat behind me
One above the rest
Soon I will leave this place
Another will take this nest
