This poem was inspired by two fellow Triond members. They will know who they are. One just had a baby girl a few weeks ago and the others daughter just had a birthday. Nevertheless, this is exactly how I felt when my oldest daughter was a baby. She was my first.
My darling little baby girl
You given this Momma’s heart a whirl
Each day you bring me such delight
I hate to put you down at night
My arms want to hold you all the day
Cleaning the house only gets in the way
Of spending all of my time with you
and seeing your beautiful eyes of blue
Such a precious gift to me, you are
You were my wish upon a star
Now, you’re my angel and I love you so
I don’t want to ever let you go
I will hold you and keep you warm
Safe and snug in winters storm
Darling daughter, my baby girl
I’m so glad you’re in my world
You have forever captured my heart
And from you, I never want to be apart
Cause you’re my jewel, my gem, my star
And I just want to be where you are.
