Everybody has dreams for their life. Some go after their dreams. Some give up on their dreams when they don’t get the results when they want it to happen. Some even put others down for them going after their dreams. Never allow others to put the flame out on your dreams.
I am over here
lingering in the dark shadows
of lives not many see
or even want to acknowledge
maybe that’s why
nobody notices
the good things I do
they only see
the gossip, the lies,
they want to see
but those are falsehoods
floating in their eyes
are tarnishing their minds
as if nothing else mattered
still I am here
lingering and wandering around
in the darkest of shadows
not many go for
yet I will achieve it
I will achieve my dreams
because my dreams are for me
and nobody else
even though they want me to stumble,
to fall face first in a mud puddle
I may stumble
I may fall down
possibly face first
but I will achieve it
I will achieve my dreams
though the gossip,
those darn right lies,
still sting and hurt
