Although we lived for months in adjoining farms I never knew that my farm girl existed. Upon such a realization we decided to see if we have what it takes to have a relationship.
On sunlit days
We venture out
To do our chores under the sky
With grueling tasks to undertake
- – -
You fed the chickens, milked the cows

And I raked hay
That laid in my barns for days
And led the white sheep to pasture
- – -
We dwell-ed on neighboring farms
But our paths never crossed
As we rushed to do our chores
Our steadfast eyes never strayed
Beyond our adjoining fence
- – -
We passed each other for months
Not giving heed that you could be
The one for me
Dressed in those raggedy clothes
- – -
When I happen to come upon you
I was not impressed
By the way you were dressed
For it could cause a person distress
- – -
“You’re a farm girl,” I said
“Who wants to be with a farm girl?”
Little did I know
You thought the same about me
It was clear to see
- – -
As I got to know you
My eyes were opened
To the beauty that you really were
You threw off your farming garb
And passed by me
- – -
I said, “My, Oh My! Have me
Before I die”
You replied, “Change those clothes
And let’s see if we can fly”
