A poem about hypocrisy and our ever changing way of living.
Let me in, show me around,
Leave me staring in the mirrors of time
Let me hold myself excessively close,
Leave me looking in my own eyes
Let me out, of my own little honest space
Leave me staring at my world from outside
I’m tired of trying to play the right chords
Of embracing my own uncomfortable hide
I see people trying to paint the face of change
Quiet brilliance, I’ve been told, is transparent
Forever there, is the decay that kills the color
And befriends you with your coldest winter
Let me in, but then throw me out
Watch me lose my integrity,
And then label me unsatisfied
I’ll soon be tired of being one of you,
And then leave me selfishly happy
In my own fluctuating design
