A poem about a bad past but a better looking future.

My Future I Can Clearly See
Go ahead and judge me for what I done.
Even my mother will tell you that I’m no perfect son.
What gives you the right to look down on me?
It’s not my fault that you can’t clearly see.
You may have had a better life,
but my own brother stabbed me with a knife.
You took the easy way out,
and I continue to fight and shout.
So tell me that I’m a bad guy because of my past,
and everything that I do, I will end up last.
It will mean more for me in the end,
because I took on the struggles around each bend.
I’m not doing this for you or anyone else,
because first I must love myself.
So go ahead and hold my past against me,
because my future I can clearly see.
I won’t always be this way.
So please, go ahead and remember this day.
