Written for my three granddaughters.

You came into my life.
On a cold Novembers Day
Bundled in your coat.
To chase the chill away.
We colored and we played.
And got to know each other.
But when you left that day.
In my heart you stayed.
My first granddaughter.
Miss. Heather Marie.

Early in the morning.
On a hot August day.
We waited for a new one.
Another girl they say.
How the time has passed.
Now you’re almost two.
I love to hear you laugh.
See your shy little grin.
You always make me smile.
My sweet Savanna Lynn.

Another early morning.
In the last days of May.
Spring has almost ended.
Summers on its way.
A third little girl.
Added to our family tree.
Tiny rounded checks.
Blue eyes shining brilliantly.
Tiny Brianna Michelle.
Has joined our growing clan.

Thank you my son.
And your wife too.
For these special gifts.
That were given to you.
Three little girls.
Joys of my heart.
In so many ways.
Three granddaughters.
To forever, hold dear.
My hope for you my darlings.
Are many long happy years.

    Thanks Nick,

I can’t let you write all the poems. Guess I just needed good subjects to write about.

Loved this poem. My first granddaughter Kyli Jeanette is now in heaven due to SIDS they say. I personally believe God needed an extra angel so she was chosen. I now have another Granddaughter Alyssa. Aren’t they just the Cats meow??? You are indeed talented and heartfelt. Kudos!
