This has come about cos today I was given a birthday card from my parents which they had kept for me.
The card was for my fourth birthday from my Nanny Vi.
I never knew my granddad.

Many years you have left our side,

cos cancer took you away from us,

You wanted to be with Granddad and be by his side

and look down on us,

To keep us safe and sound.

*

I have only but few memories of you

I was far too young at the age of four

To remember the things you done with us

To remember your kindness, your Love

You gave to us.

*

I hear stories about you all the time

and Granddad too.

The story of you chasing the policeman

Down the road with a frying pan

This story still makes me giggle to this day.

*

You were both taken from us,

In horrible ways, and far too soon.

Grandad you never knew us

Nanny you never got to see us grow up

or to meet your Great Grandchildren,

I know they would have loved

and adored you both,

Like we all do.

*

You’re both very special people

People to be admired,

and never forgotten.

*

Nanny Vi, Grandad Bob

we all still love you,

You’re both not far from our hearts

and thoughts,

Love you both forever more.

*

xxxxx

Krrymarie.
