Poem about the memories of of an older woman now, and of her grandmother, and times she spent with her….

Here I happily stand, with my dearest lovely gran,
holding each others hands, standing on our proud land…
In the years of my youth, how my heart did yearn,
so much to do and learn, very little I understood,
With granny by my side, she brought my world alive,
never to fear or hide, always to have pride…
Proud of who you are, set your goals high,
to reach for the stars, don’t be afraid to cry…
She said show respect and honor, treat all like family,
be a willing doner, to give happily…
Be brave and show courage, kindness and love too,
stay away from anger and rage, these things she knew…
Gran spoke about a time, when distress would fill the earth,
said these words of mine, are just like precious gold…
Told me to enjoy life, be happy and have fun,
and if your going to be a silly filly, then do it in the sun…
Crawling into her bed, at two o clock in the morning,
she would cradle my head, even though she was snoring…
The years soon passed away, just seems like yesterday,
holding her in my arms, learning of her many charms…
All we have are photos, the memories are many,
one thing I’ll always know, she was my world my granny…..end
