My Home Away From Home…

I was once brought
away from home
to a place that I
have never known

I hated the world
For I was alone
In this very strange place
away..
away from my home

My friends moved on
And the letters lessened
I felt so isolated
Had I been forgotten?

As the years passed by
The hate passed too
I’ve moved on with my life
as all of us do

New friends were made
Some still stay true
While others just fade
as if waiting for their cue

When the time came to leave
I was ready and willing
To go home to that place
that I have always been longing

Now that I’m home
All things have changed…
I never realized how much
Until I felt so strange

Home to a place
So familiar but not…
Maybe I was gone too long
That I’ve totally missed the plot!

I yearn for that place
That place I used to hate…
But how do I go back there?
when I’m destined for this fate..

Though it will take some time
I’m determined to go
To my home away from home
and this…I do know..

A place so serene..
Where I’ve found my peace…

In my heart..
It will never cease to exist!
