A poem about finding that you’ve dug your own grave.
darkness swells,
silently overwhelms.
coming in the depths of night,
consuming every ounce of light.
it arrives with nightfall,
a swift & subtle brawl.
who notices its clever attack?
before you know it, the night is black.
in an abyss you fall, you fade.
you’re just another victim
in an unexpected raid.
don’t fret for your body,
‘tis your soul to be decayed.
its too late to back down.
you descended long ago,
and poor, poor you—
you didn’t even know.
you’re trapped in a blockade,
you wont get away.
no need to plan an escape,
you chose this fate.
why bother with a fight?
you’re not the victim this time.
you destroyed every source of light.
you created this infinite night
***
i haven’t got the strength to fight
not a single ounce of light
this is my never ending night
