I went to see the lighthouse standing there so strong, but it reminds me of my pride that keeps me from admitting wrong…

I stand so tall and claim to be right,
I even think I’m willing to fight.
I’ll fight for my right no matter the cost,
even though my friends, I have lost.
From somewhere in the distance, I hear my Savior speak,
“Why are you doing this, what is it that you seek?”
I feel myself tremble, my knees begin to go week,
It can’t be my Savior, for I haven’t been meek.
I don’t deserve his comfort; I don’t deserve his care,
but then he softly whispers, “I have always been here”.
He said “I offer forgiveness for the hardness in your heart,
and if you look to me, I will give you a fresh start”.
So I turned to him, asked him to forgive;
and to take away my pride, for as long as I live.
The next thing I knew, a peace came over me,
and now my eyes are open and it’s you Lord that I see.
You are my Lighthouse standing there so strong,
Thank you for helping me admit that I was wrong.
