A parting message to my kindergarten class on graduation day.

Our graduation song, “Special Memory,” is fondly dedicated to the following little girls and boys. Thank you my little angels. Teacher is a better human being because of you.

SPECIAL MEMORY (composed by Cecille Azarcon-Innocentes and sung by Lea Salonga)

YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A SPECIAL PART OF ME; YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A SPECIAL MEMORY,

To Kyle, who said that the letter B looked like a pregnant woman;

To  Junjun, whose lovable dog always accompanied him to school ;

To Jimboy, who said he would like to marry my daughter.

I`LL ALWAYS CHERISH WONDERFUL MOMENTS YOU HAVE GIVEN ME,

To Ai-Ai, the very shy girl, whose noise is now sweet music to my ears;

To Tonirose, the biggest girl in class, whose school shoes fit me (a size 6!).

To Carlo, our “Korean heartthrob,” who said he had three girlfriends in class.

YOU ARE IN MY HEART WHEREVER I MAY BE.

To Denise, who cried so hard when I left for surgery;

To  Josh, who refused to come near me when I cut my hair short;

To Thea, who always offered me her sandwich at recess time.

ALL THE TIMES WE SHARED WILL ALWAYS BE TO ME, SONGS MY HEART WILL SING, REFRESHING MELODIES.

To Faith, the only girl who had the guts to slap our class bully;

To Dondon, who slapped me hard enough to make me see stars during one of his tantrums;

To Kim, who always asked if my patience had diminished from the size of his arm to the size of his thumb.

I`LL PUT TOGETHER ALL OF YOUR LAUGHTER LIKE A SYMPHONY,

To Neil, who always peeked under my skirt;

To Aivee, who always insisted I play the witch in Snow White;

To Tintin, who cut the blouse I was wearing to test if her pair of scissors was sharp enough.

I`LL  REMEMBER YOU WHEREVER I MAY BE…

To Elmo, who scared me out of my wits when he got an M&M stuck up his nose;

To Buchik, who kept a live mouse in his bag;

To Russell, who always saw and smelled spooky things in class.

I’LL REMEMBER YOU WHEREVER I MAY BE.

FAREWELL, MY LITTLE ANGELS. TEACHER IS SO PROUD OF YOU.

    Awwww…I think I will be crying if I am the teacher. I will cry out of relief LOL! But kidding aside, I will cry as I will miss those little angels as well. I get easily attached, that’s my problem. Letting go is really hard…but the memories will always be with us. :-)

    and they…Kyle, Junjun, Jimboy, Ai-Ai, Tonirose, Carlo, Denise, Josh, Thea, Faith, Dondon, Kim, Neil, Aivee, Tintin, Elmo, Buchik and Russell… will never forget Teacher. Because she gave everyone of them a piece of her heart!

    But don’t you worry… there will be more of them coming. And they will be grateful, too, to be guided by the best.

    Congratulations, Teacher!

  • Sharif Ishnin on Mar 19, 2011

    You must be really proud of them and you should. From here onwards it would be their journey to become grown ups. :)

  • Rhodora Bande on Mar 19, 2011

    Enjoyed this a lot! :-) I’m sure their parents are thankful to you for leaving a great impact in their children’s lives. I should know because I, myself, am a parent of a Kinder 1 pupil. The transformation in every child’s life is very much apparent during these years. That’s one thing we, high school teachers, are missing.

  • Tulan on Mar 19, 2011
