I use my camera for photographing wildlife, flowers and veg mainly. I have lost it somewhere recently so I decided to write a poem about it.

My Lost Camera

I seek him here, I seek him there.
I seek my camera everywhere.
It’s not in the attic, not in the shed,
Not in the garage or flower bed.

You’ll know it’s mine as the lens has a crack,
Since it fell from the pocket of my plastic mack.
The front has a dent as it bounced down the road,
As I tried to photograph a Natter-jack toad.

The flash didn’t work, as the bulb was loose,
It fell out by the lake, and was ate by a goose.
The shutter would jam, every now and again,
Since it was pecked by a chick and then by a hen.

The last I recall was a dog on my lap,
And when I woke up he had chewed the strap.
I can’t search any more as its ‘ doing my head ‘,
I need it next week as I’m getting wed!

That\’s sad that you lost all those things xtine. I am lost without my camera as I take photos of our garden flowers and veg and also of the frogs, toads and slugs!

I lose my camera within the house, on a regular basis, Richard, so I can empathise my friend! This is very amusing…
