This is a poem to go with my novel The sublime, as a boy searches for this little cherub that he sees as the sublime, and the novel is his journey and adventures to Mount Thor where he belives the sublime to be. This novel and poem was inspired by Casper friedrichs The wanderer.

My own Olympus

I am of only fourteen and three,

Yet i feel my bones ache under me,

To be above apple, and cider tree,

Where Mount Thor lies and rocks grow free.

Thunder strikes! But i walk on,

Into the night and past the dawn,

Into the unknown, warm and dark,

Past the duck house and the barns.

They may come to seek me, yet i will be gone.

I fly with Zephyr, and to the thor,

To witness nothing so sublime,

than to be at my own Olympine.

As i pine for thee, thee shall be mine,

no flower or beast will cut me down,

from treacherpus journey to hold the sublime,

Mount Thor shall be mine.
