A cowboy’s dedication to his horse.

One day as I rode ’cross the Prairie

I decided that I really would marry

Who would I marry, of course

I’d marry my trusty old horse

As together we ride ‘cross the Prairie.

I rode up to the young teacher

Stopped and bent down to reach her

She said that she would

If only she could

When I asked if she’d be the preacher.

You might think its balony

But I love my dear pony

A faithful friend

We’ll ride to the end

Over ground if its smooth or its stony.

    Hehehe… Great fun poem.

It reminds me of a Jerry Springer program I watched where a man was actually in love with a shetland pony, it was a slightly disturbing image!

I always said I was never going to marry a man and that I would rather marry a horse, you can ask my Father, he still mentions it know!!

Thank you both for your very kind words. This poem started out just as a recitation while having lunch with grandchildren a couple of days ago and I thought…hey, this is kind of a fun one I better jot down some of the lines before I forget them so I did. Just a bit of nonsense!!! Thanks again.
