This is lovingly dedicated to my beloved son Ayen James.

You ‘ve been wrong so many times

have showed a bit of  foolishness

and displayed some stubborness

And I will admit there were times

I almost given up on you

*

There were times

I ignored you

I refused to lend a hand

But that doesn’t mean

I love you no more or less

*

I did that for a reason

Though it’s tearing me apart

I want you to get up

on your own and learn

from your mistakes somehow

*

I’m aware I have shortcomings

Neglected you for sometimes

and failed to spend some

valuable times with you

*

My son, my precious son

I want you to remember

I love you and I will never leave you

Physically, I may not be with you always

But in spirit, I will always be with you

*

It breaks my heart into pieces

seeing you lying helplessly

on this solitary room

But all I can do

is pervently hope and pray

you’ll have a speedy recovery.

*

I LOVE YOU!

    My dear Nobert,

I hope your son will be better soon. Your poem was touching and filled with emotion. Our children are always in our hearts but as they become adults we can no longer protect them from life. I am finding that out with our children. My prayer are with you.

    Your friend, Pam
