Sometimes we give until we have nothing left…..

My soul cries out

To be made whole again

Where did I lose

Such an integral part

Of myself?

Somewhere along the line

I lost sight of ME

On what my Creator

Intended for me

To do and to be

So busy filling the gaps

In everyone else’s life

That there now lies

A gaping, bleeding

Hole in my own

My very life force

Once carefully meted out

Into this world

Is now a raging river

Flowing out of me

Faster than time itself

Never to return

Where will I find

The missing pieces

When everything I’ve sent out

Has returned to me void

Doled out to people with

Open hands and closed hearts

I have to rectify this

Take time to invest in me

Find my God-given purpose

And fulfill it while I have time

My soul cries out

To be completed

Very true, especially in today’s hyper-busy society.

Oh, I hope you manage to find your way again. It’s sad when we lose focus because we try to help others. Just know that you will be rewarded for your efforts and you are appreciated :)

We all get caught up sometimes. We just have to do what you said ( Take time to invest in me ) and we’ll be alright. Great poem.

Been there, done this. Afterwards…the connections broken, and your own insides start filling up again. Maybe it’s to show us the capacity we actually have, that we wouldn’t have known if we hadn’t been emptied.

Stephen, I really like what you had to say on this one. Hopefully, this is one of those cases.

To all – your time and comments are also appreciated.

The pitcure depicts images behind the man with his arms thrown out, even if doesn’t that is the way it looks. This is really good, with the picture and the words how can no one not hear your cries.

I think we all reach this moment at some point. Stephen’s point is absolutely spot on. Everyone has limits, but how do we really know what they are until we reach them. It’s time to batten down the hatches for a while. Find those elusive few who give to you, and take what they give to strengthen you again. You’ll never stop giving, that’s not your nature, but just try to give a little less for a while, and you will find your balance once more. My thoughts are with you.

Sometimes, one must feel emptiness in order to recognize happiness when it comes back.
