I wrote this poem for my mom one year for mothers day in 2001.
My mom brought me into this world 20 years ago
She brought me up to be the honest, caring, and loving girl everyone seems to know
She was there to dry my tears when I had a bad day
She comfort me, hugged me, and knew exactly what to say
She was there for me when I was in trouble
And I knew when she called, I’d better get there on the double
She told me stories and sang me songs
She disciplined me when I had done wrong
If it wasn’t for her love, caring, and always there, I wouldn’t be the sweet
caring girl I am today
She was there for me, whether it was her warm smiles, or the words she had or
didn’t have to say
I thank God every for Blessing me with someone special from above
She’s my special mom, who I dearly love
I hope one day to make it all up to her and show her how much she means to me
And I just hope and Pray I turn out how she always hoped I would be
So when you see me, remember you also see my mother
And I hope she knows I’ll always love her!
