This is a poem about the happiness I felt when my entire family met up for a dinner. I am definitely the happiest around my family. Everyone has lives of their own and it is so hard to spend time with each other.
Frenzy and chaos
Silence is of no significance
The sounds of involvement
Participation of this recreation
Every inch of the room
Bounces off the echoes of discussion
The windows fogging
A few degrees too cold
Are in the midst of the complaining guests
A roar of displeasure
Followed by the realm of laughter and relief
The comfort of blood surrounds me
The unfamiliar voices fade as I embrace the conversation
The day at work
The day at home
What’s in the news
What’s the latest gossip?
There’s an essence of love
Discreet, but shown
Sorrow is far behind
For our smiles outweigh our sadness
Peace overwhelms my heart
This is where I belong
This is my sunshine
