18 pictures and words about my travel last month to the northern philippines.

with my cellphone i took photos of the road
from where we are it was clear of traffic
with back packs, a vehicle and quite a load
i guessed it would a bit quick

later, situation came bumper-to-bumper
with cars, bus and trucks got piled up together
a new vehicle leads the pack
but unfortunately, ours are stuck on the back

it really seem quite far we went
i am waiting to see the journey end
but it seem quite odd sometime?
when no all i see is the same all the time

vehicles, roads, and so forth and so on
little big trees and grasses are all gone?
i asked my friends where can they be
they told me nothing except laugh and see

kind of like a lonely road ahead
driving a mile without looking back
i lean back from the leather seat color red
while the engine is noisy says my friend Mack

we’re approaching the end of the road?
the town is getting nearer i think..
i saw a number of houses, vehicles and a lot of large billboards
but it was only in my dreams because i fell asleep

its like snow in june i thought i see
because i am in between sleep and awake
but really what i am seeing here
is adirty windshield with lots of dust

there i was with my cellphone taking shots
of the stone pavement that serves as walls
going to our destination in the northern part of the country
the travel is reall not that comfy

rocky mountains without trees or plant life
quarried for constructions and infrastructures
some are from tailing from mining sites upland
i saw one guy slipped and fell unto the ravine

the stiff slope is like an accident prone roadway
where every so often one can be caught
mountains on the left and a ravine to the right
with a long way ahead we approached the city limits

here we are at the doors of heaven
where there are few trees more stones and sand
peables are plants and gravels are ferns
trees are abobe and fruits are cement

quarrying destroys mountains
it kills species who doesn’t have a names yet
see the truck filled with stones
i saw it in the metro in a construction firm

now the trees can be seen despit the scrouching heat
as if our skin is burning already
its not in anyway achange in climate
every summer these temperatures are being felt

like the buring bush on moses’ story
some says its aclimate thing which is silly
not true i say but anyway some see
that indeed a change is inevitable in this part of the country

we went to this beautiful place
a picturesque place set in the city of pines
full of narra trees and pines all around
a calm and serene abode for anyone

where ancient dieties still revered
highly observed traditions still lives and preserved
gods has images and replicated around
respect and worship customs abound

this is the tallest but not the highest god
he’s not bad but he looked quite sad
he was made an expert artisan
a tribal leader an artist and a wise man

these are inscriptions from our ancient alphabet
some of us now knew but not using it widely
just for arts and poetry like this new literary
the journey stops and this is my picture poetry.
