A small ditty about my hens that live on our allotment…

Twelve young ladies,

Living in a shed,

Resting on straw,

A soft golden bed,

By day you wander,

Pecking the ground,

You run with excitement,

When a juicy worm is found,

You repay your love,

With tasty brown eggs,

Sitting in your nest-box,

Taking strain of your legs,

Your life is so different,

To what it could be,

No cages in sight,

I prefer to let you rome free,

Comical ladies,

With your own special ways,

I will care for you forever,

For the rest of your days.

A lovely ditty. Your hens are very lucky to have you.
