A poem about a girl you once loved. She’s perfect in every way, but you just couldn’t hold on to her. Now you can only hope that the one that caught her can always protect her.

My wide eyed girl, who do you think you’re fooling?

You are just as lost as the rest of us

Sure you smile

Sure you charm them

But I can see who you are

You are a beauty, hiding in pale skin,

with hair like the sea

No one can catch you

But oh, how you long for it

You give and then take back

It is a test to see who can last

Unfortunately I could not keep up,

and I can see it was for the best

I hope she can catch you when you fall

I would have loved to do the same

My wide eyed girl, you were never mine,

you do n0t belong to anyone
