Summer is around the corner;

Spring yet lingers awhile;

The sky is but a ”playground”

For flighty birds on high.

The blissful air is echoing

The songbirds’ sweet refrain;

Crows are bent on cawing

Their pleasure again and again.

Pelicans soaring skyward;

Gulls are hugging the shore,

Romancing with the ocean,

Knowing what’s in store.

The sun, intent on holding

Clouds in celestial retreat,

Spreading a spotless canopy

For a flight of birds to greet;

A sailboat drifting slowly;

Dolphins circling free,

Expressing a wealth of freedom,

Flaunting their liberty.

Nature at its level best,

Displaying  unstinted grace,

Reminding life is full of fun

While in its warm embrace.
