Nests are places of much activity where different species prepare for their young.
Nests are delightful places
Of different sizes and shapes
Where species
Birds, mammals, insects
Fishes and reptiles
Prepare for their young
- – -
Their habitats are made
Of different materials
Such as twigs, leaves, grasses
Earth, sand, and rock
Even hair, plastic
Old cardboard and paper
- – -
Some birds like eagles
And vultures
Build nests in trees
Snakes and turtles on sand
While wasps and termites
In tree barks and wood
- – -
Many nests are known
By different names
An eagle’s nest is an eyrie
While that of a beaver
Is a lodge
- – -
Persons interested in wildlife
Often erect nest boxes
In their backyards to attract
Large or small birds
And some even place cameras
In them to monitor
The birthing and caring process
Of these birds
