Should I stay in this relationship?

My neurosis builds…
Splitting my brain…|
The jackhammer of your cold consolation,
Consoling me with nagging want,
Why do you persist like as if I’ve never had a job,
A house, a car or dreams,
Your voice winds me like a wicked time-piece in hell,
I strain against my desire for an outburst,
After years of unhappy words gushing from your gaping eyes,
I ask, “What would you like for dinner?”

I felt the anguish! The last line proves your willingness to stay in the relationship. Great poem!

I’m going back reading pieces I have missed. I feel undertones of desperation here. At the end you ask what the person would like for dinner, it is tougher to be nice when people upset you.
