This is a poem with a moral about a boy who played near water.

Young Sam was always very fond,
Of playing near a murky pond
His mother warned him every day,
Of the pond to stay away,
He didn’t listen I’m sad to say
After school, when the birds were singing,
And the home time bell was ringing,
He went down to the pond,
 Sprinting like James Bond,
And as he got near the pond he could see that the water lilies were dripping,
And suddenly with horror his shoe caught on some mud and he began slipping,
Shocked he fell into the pond,
No longer like James Bond,
There was a thunderous splash,
All the fish began to dash,
Sam was soaked,
People joked,
Sam’s mum came rushing to the pond,
Of which she was not very fond
She told him off,
As Sam began to cough,
And after that Sam never met eyes with the pond,
Of the water, he now regretted being fond.

Moral
The moral is that you must never play near water
