An offer of friendship, shouldn’t be used as form of rejection.

You took me for granted,
And that was your biggest mistake,
My love was something to be treasured,
But you came at me with intentions that were fake.

I would of been loyal to a fault,
No other would of ever made me stray.
But I guess it wasn’t enough,
I guess I was too weak for you to stay.

You gave me that tired old line,
“Can’t we just be friends”
But a friend isn’t something you toss to the side.
A friend is someone you stick with till the end.

And the fact of the matter is,
You were someone I couldn’t respect.
The insincerity of your character,
Was something I had to reject.

I’d rather walk away from you,
With my head held high,
Then to swallow my pride,
And be seen as less than a man in your eyes.

I won’t be your back up,
I won’t be your magic mirror on the wall,
I was not put here to make you feel beautiful.
Rather then take a fraction of your heart, I’d rather have nothing at all.

Very good, I loved how you ended it so drastically and confidently. Good job :)
