The sun shone today.

Today the sun shone and I began to think about spring

The catkins hung like limp lambs tails I felt just a king

As the Already blossomed snowdrops and crocus watch the birth

Of the daffodils and tulips forcing green shoots through the earth

The sun warmed my heart with a promise

Of a life renewed once more

My dormant love will grow again

To be as it was before

A very uplifting piece for this cold and damp winter’s day.

And I’m sitting here on what should be a summers day, watching the rain fall and being reminded that autumn is not too far away.
