Even a witch can change.

She stirs her pot, her cauldron, strong

This witch’s wish is to live long

On children’s eyes and parents’ hearts

She says the words that so now start

“Oh bubbling cauldron, my potion now thrive

I stir into you all I need to survive

The children, their eyes, they no longer see

For youthfulness now, be granted to me

The parents, their hearts, I’ve boiled in brew

With intentions to drink, I do wish to do

Be gone from me, age, oh wrinkled and worn

Prepare me soft skin, like the day I was born

Now, as the hour, it strikes its twelve notes

Oh, evil take over and give me new coat

Allow me the smile that I once possessed

I’ll trap all the men and kill all the rest”

The witch, she then stirred and dropped down her spoon

To stare for a moment at the bright autumn moon

Her mind changed its action and so did her heart

Though weathered and worn, it still knew its part

She gave up her potion and turned then for spill

She wanted no further part of a kill

She wanted to live, yes, but alone is not the way

So the witch, she retired with kind thoughts for the day

It’s very nice! I can read this to children with proper voice styles on Halloween.
