I wrote this for a woman I was with a while back. Although I thanked God for her well before I should have, (shes not with me anymore)
It still turned out to be a wonderful write.
Last night,
I watched you sleep.
You slept so silent,
not making a peep.
It’s only your love,
I so want to keep.
You’re proof that love
runs more than just skin deep.
When we first met,
I promised to always be there,
“I love you, Lori,”
I say as I stroke your hair.
So here it is,
the end of my story;
my prayer has been answered,
Thank you, God,
for me and Lori.
