Another horror poem I wrote.Hope it provokes some deep dark thoughts and scares you.lol.

There’s something about the air
It doesn’t feel right
Thick and stifling
Before you go to bed at night

You welcome sleep
Your body exhausted
But your mind won’t let go
You believe you have lost it

Trapped within a nightmare
Your mind has woken up
But your body holds on to sleep
Trapped within a nightmare
Consciousness is not to keep

Lucid dreaming
You are awake
Everything so real
But yet so fake

The shadows begin to move
Etching their way in
So close and clear
Your screaming for you body to wake up
Before the shadows come and get too near

The evil has awakened
It wants to smother your soul
Your mind knows that
But you body won’t let go

Wake up
Wakeup
The shadows are coming to get you
Pray to god
For release
Maybe the night sweats
Will begin to cease

Ominous looking
A venomous demon
Standing by your bed
A leather face
Eyes as black as night
And those hellish horns
Coming from out of its head

You open your eyes
Your body now awake
The shadows are still moving
Slowly away from you
From their evil clutch
You did escape

Your mind knows it was real
But you couldn’t even scream
Your body was trapped
It was not a dream
Panic stricken
You try not to blink
It was just a nightmare
You’d like to think

Until it comes back
Calling your name
Going undetected
Died by natural causes
You just stopped breathing
They buried you
The end of the game

Wow, I got scared there at the end when that horned rascal popped up and then I found out the game was over. I liked the opening photo, though. Really set the mood. Actually, it just knocked me off-line temporarily. How’d you do that?
