Our night srated like any other

but there was one big difference

we should have not been together

We indulged in a fantasy

Dressed up, you wined and dined me

We spoke like nothing else mattered

ignoring the concept of relationships in tatters

We were away from all of that

and tasting a life we could of had

It was just for one night only

then I would forget you and you would get over me

It was the way it had to be

All night we both stayed awake

because in the morning we would part ways

You held me like I had never been loved

so much affection with every touch

You took every inch of me in

and said things that went deep within

You cuddled me like I was your girl

and said I deserved the whole world

It was in the forefront of our minds making us sad

walking away from the taste of what we had
