A prayer for the night.

LORD hear my prayer for the night

The day has past, i thought i did right

Somewhere, somehow, someway, something was wrong

Yet YOU kept me All the day long

There is Joy in my soul from knowing

That as day sets to night i’m growing

And though i’m my biggest critic

YOU Love me and say ‘Forget it’

Forget about my fallicies and imperfection

To just concentrate on YOU who renders no rejection

Of my thoughts, my mind, my spirit, rain or shine

I may want and sometimes seek YOUR Divinity is Thine

So as my eyes grow weary to close

And i know with each breath that transpose(s)

me from Life and Liberty

To the depths of the spirit that resides In THEE

amen

I too judge myself harshly. Someone dear to me told me that we dont have the right to judge others OR even ourselves.

Only God has all the facts and the perfect scales to weigh us in.

You could actually create a chapbook of poetic prayers. I enjoy reading them.

Isn’t it wonderful that God has unconditional love! I enjoyed this.

I just finished praying and it was along the lines of this poem. This always happens with me and your poetry. Your poetry glorifies HIM. Beautiful prayer!
