From my book of poetry, Salty Water Flowing on Flowers, this poem reflects thoughts and emotions on September 11th.

I was going to write about September 11th,

but what do you say?

What do you say of that day

full of shock-waves and bucket brigades?

What do you say to those left from that day?

I’d like to say that everything will be OK.

That the sun will shine another day.

That the sun’s rays will light the way.

But it’s so hard to say.

It’s so hard to make light of a day

where makeshift morgues were there without pay.

Where bodies and grief and trauma held the day.

Yeah, this is my poem and somehow, the website got it wrong. The lines in this poem are out of order. The ones in quotations, in particular.

Ahh, problem edited! Just can’t indent lines as of yet.
