The greatest gift of all love. Enjoy – Mc Who.
NO GREATER LOVE
No greater love
Have I been privileged to share
Then the love you’ve given me
With gentle tender care
I had given up hope
Of ever finding a man
Who could satisfy my longing
Without passion in his hand
Who could quench the hunger in my heart
For honesty, truth, warmth, understanding,
Loyalty, compassion,
Always I figured
Too much was I demanding
The lines upon my face
Give evidence of sadness
Follow where they lead
To a mind full of madness
Tortured time again
By the selfish neglect
Of ungrateful men
The tears which stain my cheeks
The pain which fills my eyes
Linger on to tell the story
Of how quickly love subsides
Having lost all dignity
To the men who’ve only used me
Shamed by their abuse
Love had lost all meaning
In the rubble and refuse
Of broken dreams
But with your arms around me
Comes strength I’ve never known
With your lips upon me
New life your touch has sewn
Your heart beat sends a rhythm
To the poet in my veins
I think with you I can conquer
The past and all it’s pains
I lift my eyes heavenward
And pray that this time
Love remains
For no greater love
Have I been privileged to share
Then the love you’ve given me
With gentle tender care
