Poem about life’s times, being confused, how we all must take chances without knowing where it will lead us to.

Drowning in the reality
Of the things I never wanted to be
Fooled by white lies, hurt by persistence
Nowhere left to put my commitment
Trust, and chance the pain of betrayal
Question it, and all trust fails
To believe in something that can’t be seen
To love someone who can’t guarantee
The same for you as you do for them
Ask yourself where your trust has been
Tell me why does my heart quarrel with my mind
Will I ever find myself in time
Lost within the war taking place inside my head
Thin red lines more powerful than the words I’ve said
Throughout it all I claimed it was a phase
Yet only then my best friend was a razor blade
A compulsion, with time, morphed into an addiction
A feeling of love, with time, turned into an affliction
Sinking in the reality
Of the person I used to be
Fooled my trust, hurt by lies
Nothing left to soothe bloodshot eyes
Believe, and chance the pain of betrayal
Make believe, and the reality fails
To risk something that cannot be seen
To gamble when the outcome has no guarantee
