I was holding out for a love that’s real
Waiting for the one that would
Love and be with me
Forever
No passing fancy or fleeting romance
But a conjoining of souls
An agreement of spirits
A covenant
Built on mutual respect and admiration
Emotional connection; our thoughts intertwined
A love vast and deep as the ocean
Carrying us to another place
A higher plane, beyond the ordinary
People said I was waiting in vain
For a fairy tale life that did not exist
In this realm, but I knew better
Somewhere the one I was looking for
Was looking for me
And you served to prove the naysayers wrong
I found you to be all that and more
And what we now share is
No ordinary love
