As she swiftly walked away and went about her busy day,
a look remained on her face as if she wondered “why?”
So many thoughts ran through her head, so many wounds that went unfed,
she spoke no words nor let out a sigh, yet within these walls I heard her cry.
She ignored what they would say and pretended the hurt would go away,
and while more of her being went to hide,  it echoed of her silent cry.
The day then came, I faced her way and showed her the beauty of another day,
Her eyes once riddled with caution, became trusting and wide, she turned to me and began to say:
“The hands of time cannot rewind, nor visions of hurt leave my mind, a tortured past I leave behind…” and let out a grateful sigh
“You’ve saved a part of me that died, the bonds of friendship can never be untied, and now I’m beaming full of pride that I didn’t give my life away. 
Because you heard my silent cry.”
