This is a poem about the night being a bride of the sun awaiting the dawn…

Under the sublimely silver gossamer  veil of moonbeams

Like silken strands of silver woven together as a wedding veil

For the gown of the bride of the night who awaits the dawn

To marry the sun on the altar of the azure dome resplendent

With splashed colours stolen from meadows and rainbows

Like an intricate auspicious pattern of vermilion on the clouds

The stars form a diamond tiara for the bride to be

And in her bouquet are roses with redolent breath and dewy smiles

In colours whispering vows of passion, love, innocence and  purity

They are glistening in the moonlight as sleeping angels

Lulled asleep by the wind’s lullaby that would sing on the nuptials

And it kisses them with elixir of dewdrops that to be tasted by sun rays

The nightingale sings to herald joy at the door of marital union

And the jasmine blooms to be braided in strings

In the ebon tresses of the night like wisps of cloudy strands

Floating on her face aglow with lunar radiance

With eyes aglow as the flying fireflies with eager anticipation

And hope of conjugal delight shining on the zenith as the polar star

The owl hoots as if blowing the conch of auspicious blessing

The waters of the ocean cleanse the face of the night with tenderness

The moths dance in celebration in the silver moonlight

While the bride loses herself in restless slumber of passionate dreams…
